Rules & Regulations
General
  1. The Great Eastern Women 10K is organised in accordance with the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the Great Eastern Women 10K Rules & Regulations are sanctioned by the Singapore Athletic Association (SAA).
  2. The Race is for female participants only.
  3. Completion of the entry form, including online registrations, evidences the participant's agreement to abide by the relevant Rules & Regulations of the IAAF, Great Eastern Women 10K and SAA. Such rules apply at the material time and to any ruling of the Organiser i.e. ESG Endurance Sport Pte Ltd. The Organiser reserves the right to add and amend the rules and regulations without prior notification.
  4. By signing up for and providing any information, personal or otherwise, in order to gain access to any product(s) or service(s) and/or participate in any program(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s) or any activities involving the Enterprise Sports Group. (“ESG”), the individual is deemed to have given written permission for ESG to collect, analyse, collate, share, disclose to third parties, sell and/or otherwise use without any liability to the individual any personal information relating to that individual as ESG may in its sole discretion deem fit, including without any limitation for the following purposes:

    For its programs, planning, data-processing, statistical or risk-analysis, research, fund-raising and/or any other purposes in furtherance of the functions or powers of ESG as follows;
    1. For development or implementation of programs, products or services provided by ESG and/or in collaboration with any third parties;
    2. For outsourcing of any program(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s) and/or any activities to third parties;
    3. To any third parties for promotional, marketing and/or administrative purposes;
    4. For all purposes as required by law, including without limitation court proceedings, criminal investigations or prosecutions or where so ordered by any competent authority;
    5. In connection with any proposed, novation, assignment, transfer, sale, lease, license, partnership, joint-organizing and/or any collaboration where and when required in relation thereto.
    6. The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of the Event for any legitimate purpose, including commercial advertising.
    7. Any disputes arising from participation in the Great Eastern Women 10K shall be referred to Arbitration to be conducted in Singapore under the law of the Singapore Arbitration Court.
    8. The Champion Chip is a disposable item. Participants do not need to return the Chip to the organiser. However, should a participant lose her Chip before the race and requires a replacement Chip, a $30.00 (Singapore Dollars Thirty only) penalty will apply. Requests for any Chip replacements will ONLY be entertained at the Organiser’s premises on 19- 27 October only from Mon-Fri 10am-6pm before race day.
Registration
  1. Participants must be 16 years old as of 1 January 2010 to participate in the 10km race.
  2. Participants must be 13 years old as of 1 January 2010 to participate in the 5km Fun Run.
  3. Women Masters: For participants age 35 years old and above as of 1 January 2010.
  4. Women Under 19: For participants age 18 years old and below as of 1 January 2010.
  5. Participants are only allowed to take part in ONE of the race categories.
  6. Race category or race entry is not transferable. Any request for change of category would be subjected to an administrative fee of $10.00 (Ten Singapore Dollars only).
  7. Registration will not be accepted on the race expo and race day.
  8. All participants need to bring along their confirmation slips to collect their Race Entry Packs that include the Race Bib and Race T-shirt at the Race Expo. For group collection of Race Packs, the representative is required to produce all Official Receipts or Confirmation Slips and Authorisation Letters of all the participants.
  9. The Organiser shall not be responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete details given by participants.
  10. The Organiser reserves the right to limit and refuse entries for whatsoever reason.
Race
  1. Participants must wear their allocated Race Bib at all times during the race. Participants without the allocated Race Bib will not be allowed to take part in the race.
  2. The form on the reverse of the participant’s Race Bib must be completed in full and accurately.
  3. No pets, or any form of wheel-run modes of transport e.g. inline skates, prams, push cars, shoes with built-in or attached rollers are allowed on the course except official race and medical vehicles.
  4. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the race course without prior notice to participants.
Safety & Medical
  1. Whilst every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure the safety of participants, participants run at their own risk and the Organiser shall not be liable for any injury, loss, death, and/or damage, whether personal or otherwise, and howsoever arising.
  2. Participants may continue on the footpath at their own risk after route closure has been lifted on event day.
  3. In accordance with IAAF Rules, a participant must retire from the race immediately if required to do so by any member of the official medical team.
  4. Participants are strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/ or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual race day.
Prizes
  1. Prizes will be awarded for the 10km category only.
  2. Results tabulation system: Prize winners will determined based on gun time as per IAAF Rules.
  3. In the event a participant wins more than one award in the individual race category, she will be elected to receive the prize for one category only, i.e. the category that offers the highest prize award. Notwithstanding the participant's election, her finishing position in each of the relevant categories does not change.
  4. For prize winners or possible prize winners, disputes and appeals must be made on- the-spot within 30 minutes of the published results or immediately after the prize presentation, whichever is earlier.
Cancellation/Withdrawal
  1. Once the registration form has been duly processed, there will be no fee refund for those participants who eventually do not take part for whatever reason.
  2. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or postpone the race without any prior notification, in which case, the registration fees are non-refundable.
  3. In the event of bad weather, the Organiser reserves the right to delay the commencement of the race, shorten the race or modify the race course. However, should the bad weather persist, the Organiser reserves the right to cancel the race without any registration fee refund.



Schools' Challenge
  1. Participants must be students of an educational institution. All decisions by the Organiser shall be final. Verification of eligibility must be provided upon request. The institution with the largest number of students wins the award.
  2. The educational institutions have to provide a Coordinator to play the role of a liaison officer with the Organiser.
  3. The Coordinator is responsible for recruiting Participants, finalising his/her participants’ race entries and obtaining and distributing race day materials to the Participants.
  4. The Coordinator is responsible for submitting the registration details of the Participants in the format stipulated by the Organiser.
  5. No substitutions of Participants will be allowed once the educational institutions’ entry has been submitted.
Mother and Daughter Pair
  1. This category is open to mother and daughter pairs (13 years and above as of January 1, 2010). One of the participants in this category must stand as guardian of the younger participant.
  2. The mother and daughter category will fall under the 5km fun run.
  3. The mother and daughter pair will consist of one parent and one child only.
